Best Warrior/X + (3 heros) build - to keep them and me alive in a pinch ...
I am trying to solo adventure with as few NPCs in the group as possible.
I have read and re-read MANY posts, and have tried several builds, BUT ...
would appreciate some help.
My Warrior/Monk builds always fail due to running short on healing others in a tough fight, once the healer goes down, even if I strip DPS (damage per second) out of attack skills and put more into healing.
For healing, I use:
Orison of Healing
Signet of Rejuvenation
(I have also added 'Healing Signet' to some builds
STR 13, AXE 13, Healing 9, Tactics 5
I am level 20, have max 'Gladiator's Armor', superior vigor, absorption, axe runes
Is W/monk the best choice here, or is there a better W/x to keep both me and dying heros alive?
< OR >
Am I trying to do something that is hopeless?

ofc there's no best. With that out the way, one of the H/H team builds I most enjoy running is a physical heavy team with support from orders with 2 monk hench, morghan and devona.
Koss - 12+2+1 axe, 6+1 strength, 11+1 tactics. triple chop, dismember, penetrating chop, penetrating blow, soldier's strike, watch yourself!, flail, res/optional (this one gets wild blow if needed)
Morghan - can't remember atts, skills along the lines of slayer's spear/spear of lightning, blazing spear, "go for their eyes!", anthem of envy, anthem of flame, aggressive refrain, focused anger, signet of return. Quite a bit of room for variation though.
Melonni - 11 blood, 10+1+1 mysticism, ~10+2 wind. order of pain, dark fury, mystic healing, arcane zeal, verata's aura, faithful intervention, vow of piety, res sig/watchful intervention/imbue health
Then I run whatever I'm in the mood to run, recently that means hammers. With the support from dark fury I like to run dev-auspicious-power attack, avoiding hammer bash/heavy blow. Took me through NF happily enough.

What you're doing wrong is using Healing Prayers.
Stop.
Bad warrior - Healing Prayers suck hard, very hard. If you wanted to solo with as few heroes/hench as possible, take a hero monk as a hybrid prot/healer - check the monk forums for some general builds - or run a very physical heavy team with a Paragon, Finale of Restoration and a lot of chants/shouts.

He's right ^
If I want someone to heal, I get a healer. Trying to do both is the reason why 95% of W/Mo's in PvE are completely f---ing useless. Kill things. Thats your job. Do it well.

You're the warrior, go kill stuff. The template Dragon Slash build, for example. Or Triple Chop with some others, although I'm not awfully fond of the skill...
Monks are generally better off with Protection, but Hybrid works fine. Since you mention you want to accomplish this with as little people as possible, perhaps Zealous Benediction would help.
I haven't played in a while though.

Personally, with my baby wammo (Triple Chop/Cyclone Axe etc), I've found a protter monk, SF ele and necro MM does fine (at least in NM)
Only monk skill used is a low lvl Mending Touch, rest of heal is by Lion's Comfort.

I guess you could adapt the build i use on Heros...
1 Triple Chop w/ Dismember and Flail. Guess you could bring in WY if its only 4man. But i just go pure strength/mastery.
1 SoH/JI Smiter w/ Smite Hex and a few other removals from prot, maybe Spear of Light.
1 MM.
1 Heal or Prot monk. I use Zhed as water snarer but if you want to survive you obviously need some protection/healing.
The SoH/JI on you and some major attack spam creates an insane amount of damage to grouped up mobs with a little help from Deep Freeze. Then once the MM is rolling... well things just get easier. Criticalled for 141 on triple chop vs an Afflicted Necromancer when i was capping Shadow Form earlier, which was teh last skill in the chain of Dismember, Executioners, Triple.

I actually don't like using Prot on monks because they don't use it very well. They have a tendency to spam their skills everywhere, draining their energy and not helping those who need it. I personally run a Healer's Covenant hero monk, which actually does amazingly well with the way hero AI works.
And why are you trying to do areas with as few NPCs as possible? You know that your drops are no longer based on how many people are in your party yes? You now always get drops as if you had a full party, even if you don't actually have a full one.
